it's been a while

Things are going well for us. This year is being good to us so far. Ollie is growing well. We had a little run in with a cold, but other than that he's been great. He's learning to recognize things and people and is starting to smile. Jonas is hilarious. We seriously can't get after him when he's being mischievous without laughing. He just smiles back at us as if to say, "You can't be mad at me...look how cute I am." Milo has been quite the helper lately and "can do anything." He's helping Mom and Dad around the house a lot more and trying to be a good example for his brothers. (sometimes an example of how pile drivers to the chest hurt or how to give a good head lock.) Helping with the dishes is one of his favorites lately.

Derek is still working as ski patrol at Brian Head. He wishes it would snow more. He just recently got a job with the Forest Service working as a Forestry Technician that starts in May. Maren is still super mom. Cape and all. In February Maren had her 29th birthday. Hooray! Now she's the same age as her Mom and Grandma Lugwig!

We recently went up to the resort and visited Derek at work and went skiing with the boys. It was Jonas' first time and Milo's second. Jonas was terrified of the lift rides, but was excited to ski down. He could hardly walk in his ski boots which happened to be twice his foot size. He did great though and after skiing down was asked, "Was it fun?" His response: "Yes, it was." (as a matter of fact) Milo enjoyed the skiing as well and wanted to do it all by himself, of course. However, he has not figured out how to stop yet, so Dad had to help. He was curious as to why there were "those red pads on all of the posts." Dad explained that they were there just in case people ran into them then they wouldn't get hurt. "So that when they hit it going really fast their heads don't open up and blood falls out?" uh, yeah, Milo.

A couple of weeks ago we went to Pioneer park in St. George which has a mini slot canyon called "Fat Man's Misery." We decided to go through it. Jonas was a little apprehensive:

I have watched that last video like 50 times now. It's still funny.

I am glad you have fun taking the kids skiing. I have never been and do not care for the winter. Wish my parents would have exposed us more. Oh well, I will have to work on it with Victoria. :)
