Ruminations

Update: We live in a house! Our house! It's a very fine house. With no cats in the yard...

Lots of other cool stuff has happened since our last posting...Gina covered most of it. Thanks, Gina! The big news is that Maren's getting fat! She thinks she'll lose it in March sometime. We're pretty excited.

This past summer we drove a bajillion miles to Nebraska to visit cousins. (Other than our Family, there's really nothing exciting in Nebraska. We're convinced that Nebraskans try to make their state unique by creating hundreds of museums full of old junk from other states.) Our visit was fun though and it was nice to see family. We went to a really cool kids place, shot at clay pigeons, and saw a jet that Grandpa Bryan used to fly in when he was young and sexyer.

Derek is still working at Mountain Springs (a private high school). Since our last post he's been promoted to the Weekend Director. His job now entails planning super cool trips to super cool places for the school. Just a few weeks ago he went to Yellowstone with the school on a week long trek. It sounds more hardcore than what really happened. It was American car camping to the max...but it was still fun nonetheless.

Derek also recently went on an epic week long backpacking trip with some friends up to the Wind River Range in Wyoming. This trip was quite the opposite from the Yellowstone trip. No traffic. No newly weds, nearly deads, or over feds. Gorgeous views, superb fishing, and good company!

Milo is starting Kindergarten tomorrow! Yahoo! He's been counting down the days and he's really excited to go.
Jonas is quite jealous of Milo that he gets to go to school, but we think that he's secretly excited now that Milo is out of the way of the attention he'll now be getting.
Ollie is currently the devil. He definitely takes advantage of the attention that we don't give him, as he will get into everything he shouldn't and we'll end up finding out about it way later. He talks up a storm, too, though, we're not sure at times what he's saying. Handsome devil.

Things are starting to become more consistent now, which is nice. We've been in quite the whirlwind this summer. We are so blessed to be where we're at right now. Our neighborhood is great and has been so warm with our moving in. It's crazy to look back and see how things seemed to almost line up for us, though at the time it didn't seem that way. We're being looked over, that's for sure. Our faith has grown so much in the past few months and we've seen evidence of our Savior's love for us. This and so much support from our family and friends. Thanks to all of you. We love you.

Pictures will be posted as soon as we find the cord from our other camera.

In 100 years, someone is going to stumble upon that Wind Rivers picture and think it's creepy. Just like we do when we see old mining town pictures.

Congrats on the baby! It is always good to hear from you. Aiden is in the same boat as Ollie. We can barley understand him. I cant wait to see more pictures.
